Caribbean Basin Security Summit – The South America Security Summit 2018

CABSEC-SAMSEC 2018 This year’s Caribbean Basin Security Summit – The South America Security Summit 2018   CABSEC-SAMSEC  took place from March 27th to 29th in Kingston Jamaica. Sint Maarten was represented by the acting head of the National Security Service Sint Maarten,Mr. Jérôme Beeldsnijder, on behalf of the Prime Minister/Minister of General Affairs, Mrs. Leona Marlin-Romeo. Mr. Beeldsnijder participated in various discussions concerning regional crisis response teams, security risk reduction, contingency planning, terrorism and post hurricane Irma-Maria lessons learned.

Presentation on APIS (Advanced Passenger Analysis Information System)

Representative of the Royal Marechaussees in the Netherlands Willem Mudde delivered a presentation on the functioning of the soon-to-be-established Advanced Passenger Analysis System to representatives of the Police Force, national intelligence agency VDSM, Port St. Maarten and the Royal Marechaussees in St Maarten on November 16.

St. Maarten Signs MOU To Use APIS

The National Security Service of Sint Maarten and the Caribbean Community’s Caricom’s Implementation Agency for Crime and Security (IMPACS), on November 26, 2015, signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the use of Advanced Passenger Information System (APIS).
